Separate rack capacity from structural capacity
The rack manufacturer controls the platform, brackets, and supplied mounting system. The building determines whether the chosen framing and connections can accept the additional load. Treat these as separate questions. If the manual does not address your framing type, or the ceiling supports living space or engineered trusses, ask for qualified guidance before installation.
Keep a load record after installation
Write down each tote’s packed weight and update the list when contents change. Keep that record with the manual so another household member does not mistake empty platform space for unused capacity. Inspect the system on the schedule specified by the manufacturer and after any impact, modification, or noticeable movement.
